Guide to the Gutenberg Image Block

Of all the media-type blocks, the image block is the most fundamental. Use it to add a single image to one of your posts or pages.

The new image block in Gutenberg works similarly to the „Add Media“ button in the traditional editor. Set your image’s alignment to left, right, or center, and include a caption, a link, an alt attribute, etc.

The system of blocks introduced in WordPress version 5.0 is known as Gutenberg. Blocks give you a lot more design flexibility when making posts and pages. The ability to align blocks to full-width and wide-width came with Gutenberg blocks.
